Google recently made some changes to release a new Google Search called “Personal Search”. This is an effort on Google’s part to make Social Media interaction a huge part of how Google search results provide content. Now, when you search Google, the people you’re connected to through Google+ will show up in your results anytime they’ve +1′d, commented on, shared, created content and more. This is making all search results specifically relevant to your Social Media network.
Additionally, there are some exciting new features to Google Search. You can now filter your results by people you’re connected to through Google+. By typing in a connection’s name into the search bar, you can select the dropdown option in the search bar that shows your connection’s profile pic, name and bio. When you do that, it makes that person a permanent part of your search. Now you can type in your search next to that connection in the search bar and filter all search results to only content that connection has interacted with. Rather than getting all the results Google has to offer on “local food”, you can get only results on “local food” by a trusted connection on that topic. This shows you only results based on that person’s interaction, and filters results to just their opinions and thoughts about the subject.
